The name Kalatop means ‘black cap’, which refers to the thick, black forest cover on the highest hilltop in the sanctuary. One need to be careful of the bears and no guided tours are provided by the forest department. The sanctuary also provides beautiful sunset views of the Pi Pangal range. The Kalatop sanctuary also has a small guest house located inside the premises. One needs to take prior booking at least 10 days from the day of staying.
St John’s Church
