Places to visit in Dalhousie

Panchpula

Panchpula is a scenic and tranquil destination known for its cascading waterfalls, lush greenery, and the convergence of several streams. Ganji Pahari

Kalatop Wildlife Reserve

It is a well known tourist destination. One can spot Himalayan Bear in this sanctuary. This park is a fantastic tourist destination in Dalhousie because of the stunning river Ravi that flows nearby and supplies the park with water, the blue pine, deodar, and oak trees on the Kalatop hills. The name Kalatop means ‘black cap’, which refers to the thick, black forest cover on the highest hilltop in the sanctuary. One need to be careful of the bears and no guided tours are provided by the forest department. The sanctuary also provides beautiful sunset views of the Pi Pangal range. The Kalatop sanctuary also has a small guest house located inside the premises. One needs to take prior booking at least 10 days from the day of staying.

St John’s Church

It was built in 1863 and is one of the oldest church in Dalhousie. It tends to be a favorite amongst photographers because of the steady mix of beauty and history. A library is there next to the church, where one can find a lot of book about the past and the present of the town. you can expect a serene and spiritually uplifting experience as you admire the beautiful architecture, stained-glass windows, and well-maintained interiors. Subhash Baoli

It is a scenic spot . It is named after Subhash Chandra Bose, the renowned Indian freedom fighter, who is believed to have spent time here during his stay in Dalhousie. Chamera Lake

The lake is known for its wild scenic beauty, it is also a great place for water sports and activities like river rafting, boating, fishing, etc. The Himachal Pradesh Department of Tourism organises several water sports at Chamera Lake, including boating, river rafting, kayaking and canoeing; there are lifeguards on site. The banks of the lake are ideal for setting up a picnic, especially between March and June, when the weather is quite pleasant.
